Ideal Body Mass (Based on BMI)

What is your ideal weight? Here is a table for determining your ideal body weight based on your height, according to the Body Mass Index (BMI). You look for your height on the left column, then across for your minimum and maximum suggested weight based on that height. This table gives your weight in pounds - there is a similar table that gives your weight in kilograms.

A BMI of between 20 and 25 is considered to be an ideal weight. You can use this table to determine your acceptable weight range for your height by finding the weight corresponding to a BMI level of 20 and 25. For example, if you are 5' 8" tall, your ideal weight range is between 131.6 and 164.4 lbs, and you are classified as obese if you are above 197.3 lbs.

There is a similar table with height in centimeters. You could also use the BMI calculator to determine if you are in the ideal weight category, or these BMI norm tables. If needed, you can convert your height from feet/inches to centimeters using this calculator.
