- From the list of components regarding the poll on soccer performance, with the exception of body size and composition, you can not possess any of the other components without a solid foundation of muscular strength. Since every other component is a result of the conversion of muscle strength to speed, power and endurance. Strength x power = maximal power. Power x speed = explosive power. strength x endurance = muscular endurance. Speed x endurance = speed endurance. Endurance x power = power endurance. speed x power x coordination x flexibility = agility. All of the above can not occur without strength! (from Robbo9, Jan 2012)
