Hong Kong at the Winter Olympics

Hong Kong finally joined the Winter Olympic Games in 2002 and has participated at the event from then on.

Right after Hong Kong’s sovereignty was moved to China in 1997, the special administrative region was assigned as Hong Kong, China by the IOC.

Hong Kong has already won three medals at the Summer Olympics including a gold medal it had won in sailing at the 1996 Summer Olympics. However, Hong Kong is still seeking its first medal at the Winter Games.
