Volleyball Major Events
There are many events in the international calendar for the sport of volleyball.
- Volleyball at the Olympics Games — There are two versions of volleyball played at the Olympics - Indoor Volleyball and Beach Volleyball. Indoor volleyball has been officially played at the Olympic Games since 1964. Beach Volleyball was introduced officially in 1996.
- Volleyball World Championship — an international competition for men and women held every four years.
- Volleyball Women's World Cup — an international competition contested by the senior women's national teams every four years.
- Volleyball Men's World Cup — an international competition contested by the senior men's national teams every four years.
- Beach Volleyball World Championships — event for men and women organized by the Fédération Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB). The first official event was held in Los Angeles USA in 1997, and held every two years since.
