Liberia at the Olympics

The Republic of Liberia created the Liberian National Olympic Committee in 1954 and was officially recognized by the International Olympic Committee in 1955. The very next year, they sent their first-ever delegation to the Summer Games that included four athletes (Athletics) to Melbourne, Australia.

With the exception of 1968, 1976 as well as 1992, Liberia has participated in all of the Summer Olympics since their debut in 1956. However, they are yet to win their first Olympic medal and like most of the Countries in the African continent, Liberia has not sent any athletes to represent the country in the Winter Olympics.
