Jersey at the Commonwealth Games
The island of Jersey is part of the Channel Islands, which includes Guernsey, Sark, Herm and Alderney. The Channel Islands are situated in the Bay of Mont St Michel and Jersey is just 14 miles (22.5km) from the coast of France and 100 miles (161km) south of mainland UK.
Jersey at the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games
Jersey finished seventeenth at Glasgow 2026, the first Commonwealth Games staged with a reduced program of 10 sports. The island won 1 gold and 1 silver for 2 medals in total – its first Commonwealth Games medals in 36 years, since 1990.
Both medals came in the pool through swimmer, Filip Nowacki, who took silver in the 100m breaststroke and then gold in the 200m breaststroke, the latter Jersey's first-ever Commonwealth Games swimming gold. The final medal standings, with Jersey's placing, are shown below.

Trivia
- Jersey have attended every Games since their debut at the 1958 Empire and Commonwealth Games in Cardiff.
- Their first gold medal came in Auckland in 1990 with Colin Mallett taking the Open Full Bore Rifle Queen's Prize.
- As they are not eligible to compete in their own right at the Olympic Games, the Commonwealth Games represents the pinnacle of international sport for the people of Jersey.
