Anguilla at the Commonwealth Games
Anguilla is an external territory of the United Kingdom, and therefore is not eligible to independently compete at the Olympic Games. The Commonwealth Games therefore, provides Anguilla's athletes with a valuable opportunity to compete in a major international multi-sport event.
Trivia
- In 1978 at team from St Kitts (Christopher) and Nevis and Anguilla competed at the Commonwealth Games.
- Anguilla attended its first Games in 1998 in Kuala Lumpur, competing in the athletics, and have competed in all Games since.
- A delegation of five athletes in track and field took part in Manchester and the team was lead by famous cricketer, Cardigan Conner.
- They have yet to win a medal at the Commonwealth Games.
