Sharelle McMahon : Netball

Sharelle Jane McMahon (born 12 August 1977) is a former Australian netball player who captained the Australia national netball team for the 2006 Australian Commonwealth netball team as well as co=captain of the Melbourne Phoenix. She played 115 games for Australia with a collection of awards and honors during her career. McMahon started playing netball in primary school. She got selected by a scout and was awarded a scholarship to the Victorian Institute of Sport (VIS).



Greatest Sporting Achievements

Sharelle McMahon helped Australia win the two gold medals for Netball World Championships and two gold medals for the Commonwealth Games.

She became Melbourne Vixens’ MVP in 2009 and 2010 and that same year, she won the Australia’s Favorite Diamond award.

Why Was She So Good?

A marvelous sharp-shooter, Sharelle McMahon was a ruthless player on the court. She was exciting to watch on the court that never ceased to amaze.
