BRW Top 50 Sports Earners for 2000

Here are the top earning Australian sports people for the year 2000, as published by the Business Review Weekly (BRW) magazine. Just the top 10 of their "Top 50 Sports Earners" list is shown. The list is compiled by BRW journalists and includes gross wages, prize money, sponsorships and endorsements. See other BRW Top Earners from other years, and also how these compare to the international top earner lists.

Golfer Greg Norman has top spot again, as he has since the list began in 1997. The number three from last year, motorcyclist Mick Doohan had the biggest drop, not even making the top 50 this year. Greg Norman is not the only golfer to earn big bucks - there were 13 golfers in the top 50, including the top placed female Karrie Webb at number 8 again. The other females on the list were Cathy Freeman and Susie O'Neill at equal 29th, and golfer Rachel Hetherington at 50. There were also 11 soccer players in the top 50. The only cricketer to make the top 50 was Shane Warne with estamated earnings of $1.3 million.
