About Montpellier

The city of Montpellier is the capital of the Languedoc-Roussillon region, located 7km from the Medditerranean. It is france's eighth largest city, in the middel of a boom time fueled by the region's high-tech industry.

Some of the things for a tourist to do in Montpellier, if not watching rugby, includes:

  • a visit to the clsoest beach, which is Palavas-Les-Flots, about 15 minutes away.
  • visit the recently re-opened Musee Fabre - one of France's oldest public mesums

Getting to Montpellier

It is only three hours by train (on the TGV super fast train).
