Australian Modern Pentathlon at the Olympics
- In Helsinki in 1952, the swimming coach Forbes Carlile was the first Australian to compete in the modern pentathlon event.
- Peter Macken is one of the few athletes to compete at the Olympics in two different sports: Fencing in 1968
and Modern Pentathlon in 1960, 1964, 1968, 1972 and 1976.
- Neville Sayers also competed in two different sports at the Olympic Games: Modern Pentathlon in 1956 and 1960, and
Shooting in 1960.
- Duncan Page also competed in two different sports at the Olympic Games: Modern Pentathlon in 1964 and 1968
and Fencing in 1964.
- Australia's first Modern Pentathlon gold medal (first MP medal of any kind!) was won by Chloe Esposito in Rio 2016. She had a stunning final event to come from seventh and more than 40 seconds behind the leader to win the gold.
