Torball is team sport that was developed to be played by the blind and partially sighted people. The sport is fast-paced and requires high levels of concentration. It is played by visually impaired men and women of all ages. Torball is extremely popular in Central Europe and Latin America, and is also played in 30 other countries.

Torball is played on a rectangular court measuring 16m x 7m between two teams with three players per team. An inflated ball, about the size of a soccer ball, with bells fixed inside, is used is used to play the sport. Three chords are tied at a certain height across the width and the ball has to be rolled below the chords. A goal line that stretches the entire width is used on both ends.

The objective of the sport is to throw the ball through the opponent´s goal line. As one team throws, the other team tries to prevent the ball from reaching the goal line. Teams alternate turns to take a shot at the goal.

A match is played for two five-minute periods. If the ball touches any of the cords, a penalty is enforced where a player from the offending team leaves the court for one throw. The team that scores the most goals wins the match.
