Peteca is known to be the traditional sport of Brazil, that is played with a hand shuttlecock. The game is played by hitting a shuttlecock with your hand over a high net, similar to a volleyball net, attempting to make the shuttlecock land on the ground in the opponent's court.

The shuttlecock can only be hit once per side of the net. This sport can be played in various formats, including singles, doubles, and by both males and females. Traditionally, peteca was played during celebrations, often accompanied by songs and dances. Over time, this captivating activity evolved into a popular sport enjoyed by many.
This sport is played to the best of the three games, whether in singles or doubles format. The first player or pair who is able to score twelve points first wins the set. The time duration of this game is twenty minutes. If at the end of the time neither of the two sides are able to reach the required score, then the win is awarded to the team with the most points.
