The World Games 2029

The 13th edition of The World Games (TWG) will be held in the south-western German city of Karlsruhe. Karlsruhe also hosted the 3rd edition of The World Games in 1989, and thus becomes the first city to organize the multi-sport event twice. The 7th edition in 2005 was also held in Germany.

This 13th edition of The World Games will involve about 5,000 athletes from more than 100 countries, competing in about 35 sports. At the closing ceremony of The World Games 2025, the Mayor of Karlsruhe, Dr Frank Mentrup was handed the flag of IWGA.

The Mayor of Karlsruhe watched The World Games at Chengdu closely and promised to simply copy what they have seen in the next four years when they host The World Games in 2029. He also added that the city will give the game its own character and ensure both athletes and viewers around the world have a good time. The details will be available closer to the date.
