The African Francophone Games for the Handicapped is a multi-sport event for disabled athletes. The Games are better known under their French title, Jeux de l'Avenir des personnes handicapées d'Afrique francophone, with the acronym JAPHAF. The games were originally held in 1994, then every two years. The games do not appear to he held anymore, the last record of an event was in Niger in 2009.
The games were open to several categories of handicap: physical, visual, mental, and those with hearing difficulties. Sports on the program include archery, African traditional wrestling, basketball, handball, table-tennis, wheelchair races, weightlifting, and volleyball.
Eligible African nations were Benin, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Chad, Côte d'Ivoire, Congo Brazzaville, Congo RDC, Gabon, Mali, Mauritania, Niger, Central African Republic, Senegal and Togo. Belgians, Swiss, and French athletes wereinvited to participate on several occasions.
