Olympic discus thrower Al Oerter helped to organize an exhibit called 'Art of the Olympians', which has now collected the work of 50 Games veterans. The exhibit traveled to New York City, and finally found a permanent home in a waterfront gallery in Fort Myers, Florida.
The gallery includes a large collection of art from a diverse group of Olympians turned artists, such as Peggy Fleming, Florence Griffith Joyner, Cammy Myler, Shane Gould, Liston Bochette and Bob Beamon.
The museum is located at 1300 Hendry Street, Fort Myers, Florida 33901. website
