The Australia who has competed at the Olympic Games the most number of times is Andrew Hoy in equestrian. He participated in 1984, 1988, 1992, 1996 (Opening Flag Bearer), 2000 and 2004. Equal on six is sailor Colin Beashel.

Lawrence 'Laurie' Morgan is the only person to play VFL/AFL football and win an Olympic Gold Medal. He played 34 games for Fitzroy in 1937-39, then in 1960 he represented Australia in equestrian, and won two gold medals.

Phillip Dutton, who won equestrian gold for Australia in 1996 and 2000, was part of the USA team in Beijing in 2008.
