What tests are performed?
Below are some examples of fitness tests performed around the world from different departments, as found on the internet or submitted by others. Please note that not all the table's details have been checked, and some may be out of date, but they may give you an idea of what tests are being or have been performed. Australian Army |
Australian Army Physical Fitness Assessment (PFA) has the following requirements for recuits:
Once chosen, the bi-annual basic fitness requirements include the following tests. The requirements will vary between males and females, and age groups.

Canadian Forces |
The fitness test consists of a shuttle run, pushups, sit-ups and handgrip strength. Standards are based on age and gender. For example, a male under age 35 must do 19 pushups, while a woman under age 35 must do nine. New Zealand Army |
To obtain a G1 pass, NZ Army personnel are required to pass the following tests:
There are graduating scales working progressively downwards depending upon your age to gain a lesser G2 pass. |
