National Institute of Sports Science - Sri Lanka

The National Institute of Sports Science is one of the leading institutes of sports education in Sri Lanka. It was developed under the authorization of the sports law act NO. 25 in 1973. The sports institute was declared as a “Sports School” with its instatement ceremony of 1978. This top Sri Lankan sports establishment works under the provision of Parliamentary Affairs and Sports. The most substantial part of the institute is the sports library that houses many books on sports science – leading to expert insights for the top scholars on the subject of sports.

The sports students may gain from the research articles from the prominent sports experts. They can study in the library to improve their sports proficiency. The books in the library range from Medicine and Health to Sociology. Some other important categories on which books are included are Phycology and Management. There are subscriptions that consist of about more than forty technical periodicals of sports and games. This sports library has the honor of being recognized as the seventh top sports library in the Asian region.
