Autocross is also known as Gymkhana, Auto-x, Solo and Autosalom, is a timed competition in which drivers navigate one at a time through a defined course. It is an introductory motor sports that mainly focus on active participation and safe competition.
It is safer than many other motorsports because only one car runs on a track at one time. The racer has to navigate through a defined track on a sealed or unsealed surface. The tracks are normally one to two kilometers. For the beginners, it is the best sport to take part in to develop their skills for auto racing and other competitive sports.
Events usually have many classes that let almost any vehicle, from economy sedans to purpose-built racing cars, to compete. Due to the construction of typical track, speeds can be slower compared to other types of motorsports, typically the vechiles do not go more than highway speeds, but the activity level can be greater than even Formula One due to the huge number of features in each course.
