Jackson and Pollock Skinfold Calculations

December 30th, 2009 · 1 Comment · Anthropometry

A video of a lecture on calculating percentage body fat from skinfold measurements. It is not very exciting, but gives a practical example of using the equations to calculate body fat levels. See more about the Jackson & Pollock body density equations.

In the essentials of strength and conditioning text by Baechle the Jakcson/Pollock equation for women to determine BF% subtracts (501 or 5.01 – Db) – 4.57 or 457 – the numbers used in the video were for men. In this case – that creates an 8% difference. On the site there is just one equation as well presented – the male numbers – please clarify. Thank you – Steve
