Cardiovascular endurance, or more correctly aerobic fitness, is the ability to exercise continuously for extended periods without tiring. Aerobic fitness is an important component of many sporting activities (see what is aerobic fitness).
There are many ways of training and improving your aerobic energy system. One of the most common way to endurance train is running, or for many it may be more realistically called jogging. Other exercise modes commonly used for endurance training include cycling, swimming, a gym circuit, aerobic classes, or just playing sport. We have a poll about just this question. What mode of exercise do you use for aerobic endurance training? The most common answer is not surprisingly running, with cycling and playing sport the next most popular exercise modes.
