The highest paid sportswoman for this year was tennis player Maria Sharopova earning 29? million dollars, well short of the 2013 highest paid sportsman Floyd Mayweather Jr. with earnings of 90 million dollars.
Sharopova's earnings placed her in 9th position of all athletes in the combined male and female SI list. Tennis player Li Na was ranked 17th on this list. Another tennis player Caroline Wozniacki was just out of the top 20.
