Blood Type Diet

The Blood Type Diet works by eating according to your blood type (O, A, B or AB). This diet idea was crerated by naturopath Peter J. D’Adamo. According to him, by following a certain diet for your blood type, it will help you lose weight, digest food properly, prevent diseases and gain more energy.

Does it work? There is no scientific basis for the claims made by this diet. The blood type diet has been found to be one of the worst diets.



Blood Type Diet Principles

For type O blood, eat
– High protein like lean meat, poultry, fish, vegetables
– light on grains, dairy and beans

For type A blood, eat
– meat-free, only organic and fresh fruits, vegetables, beans, legumes, whole grains
– A blood has a sensitive immune system
– mostly vegetarian

For type B blood, eat
– meats, low-fat dairy, eggs, green vegetables
– no wheat, buckwheat, corn, tomatoes, lentils, peanuts, sesame seeds, chicken

For type AB blood, eat
– tofu, dairy, green vegetables and seafood
– no caffeine, smoked meats, marinated meats, alcohol
– AB blood has low stomach acid

For weight gaining:
O  blood – sweet corn, kidney beans, cabbage, cauliflower, Brussels sprouts
A  blood – dairy, lima beans, wheat, meat, kidney beans
B  blood – peanuts, wheat, buckwheat, sesame seeds, sweet corn
AB blood – kidney beans, buckwheat, seeds, sweet corn, red meat

For weight loss:
O blood – liver, red meat, spinach, seafood, broccoli
A blood – pineapple, vegetable oil, vegetables, soya foods
B blood – liver, eggs, green vegetables, meat
AB  blood – pineapples, tofu, alkaline fruits, seafood, dairy products, seafood
