Bruce Protocol Stress Test demonstration

January 4th, 2010 · No Comments · Aerobic

An example of a subject performing the Bruce Protocol Treadmill Stress Test. At one point one of the leads on the 12 lead ecg comes off and you can see the result on the screen. This is one of the problems with cardiac monitoring during exercise. They are also monitoring heart rate and using the Borg RPE scale to record perceived intensity. In the video is Dr. Fardy of CUNY Queens College.

During the 30-15 Intermittent Fitness Test (and it’s variant the Interval Shuttle Run Test (ISRT)), players alternately run 20 meter shuttles for 30 seconds and walk for 15 seconds, with increasing speed. It is an intermittent version of the beep test. Here are a group of athletes performing the 30-15 Intermittent Fitness Test

October 27th, 2009 · No Comments · Shuttle Runs

Video of the 30-15 Intermittent Fitness Test (players alternately run 20-m shuttles for 30 seconds and walk for 15 seconds, with increasing speed) with cardiorespiratory measures. Taking such measures is not a standard part of the test, so this is probably a test being conducted for research purposes.

Large Group Performing Shuttle Run Test

October 27th, 2009 · No Comments · Shuttle Runs

A large group of young students pacing along in the gym, demonstrating the beep test for the ‘Run for Life’ program. A nice and simple explanation of the test, though normally you would not want a brick wall at either end of the test area.

Here is one guy doing the test solo from the start. If you get through to level 11, you can open part 2 which has the final levels. He makes it to about level 12. You could actually follow this online and try the test yourself.

October 27th, 2009 · No Comments · Shuttle Runs

This is part two of the Yo-Yo endurance fitness test, the final few stages. This is the ‘endurance’ version of the yo-yo test, which is essentially the same as the standard Multistage Fitness Test (beep test). See also the posted part 1 of this video.

Yo-Yo Endurance Test (part 1)

A large Indian women’s hockey team performing the Yo-Yo Endurance Test, which is a version of the beep test, not an intermittent test like the other Yo-Yo tests. Part one is here. There is another post with part two.

Soccer Beep Test

October 27th, 2009 · 2 Comments · Shuttle Runs

A group of soccer players performing the beep shuttle run test. Just a few of the shuttles during level 11 is shown, and none of them seem like they are ready to drop out. The course actually looks more like 15m rather than 20m. Notice the cones placed midway between the outer cones, which is a good way of keeping the players running straight up and down. Actually, you usually see soccer players performing the Yo-Yo test rather than the Beep test.
