Swimming Tips for beginners

  • While swimming with your head down, remember to not old your breath, just breathe out the air from your lungs gradually.
  • Keep your strokes long in the water and relaxed when coming over. Try and keep the heart rate down so that you conserve energy for the cycling and running legs.
  • Look up every 10 strokes and focus on a landmark near the finish, to help you stay on course and finish faster.

Running Tips for beginners

Everyone has a unique running style, though there are some basics that everyone can work on to maximize their running efficiency and therefore speed.

  • focus on being tall
  • stay relaxed
  • focus on being light on your feet
  • when sprinting, use your arms strongly
  • keep your head and shoulders facing straight ahead
