Diego Maradona : Football (Soccer)

Diego Armando Maradona Franco (October 30, 1960 - 25 Nov 2020) is a soccer player who led Argentina to victory during the 1986 World Cup. He was a short, courageous midfielder recognized for his capability to generate scoring chances not only for him, but for his other team mates as well. Maradona played for the Argentinos Juniors, Boca Juniors, Barcelona, Napoli, Sevilla and Newell’s Old Boys during his club career. He became famous for his time at Napoli where he won many awards.

Greatest Sporting Achievements

Nicknamed “El Pibe de Oro” or “The Golden Boy”, the peak of his career came when he became a member of the Argentinean national team that won the 1986 World Cup. His two unforgettable goals happened during that tournament that may still call it the “goal of the century”. He played four World Cups, scored a total of 34 goals in 91 international appearances representing Argentina.

Diego Maradona has extraordinary passing, ball control, dribbles, vision, speed, reflexes and thinking time. He was only 5’5”, giving him a low center gravity which allowed him to maneuver easily around the field.
