Twenty20 (T20) Cricket

Twenty20, more commonly known in its abbreviated form T20, is one of the two officially recognized formats of limited over cricket. All general cricket rules, like runs, overs, wickets, bowling, and many other, are all the same for the T20 format also.

A T20 match, like other formats of cricket, is played between two teams with 11 players on each team. After the coin toss, one team bats for a maximum of 20 overs, followed by the other team's innings. The team that scores the most runs at the end of the match is the winner. If a match ends in a tie, each team gets to play one extra over, called the 'super over' to decide the winner.

Some of the restrictions that apply only for this format of cricket are :

T20 matches are played in both international tours and domestic leagues. The most popular international T20 tournament is the T20 World Cup held every four years. All cricket playing countries also have domestic T20 leagues, of which the IPL, an annual series conducted in India, is the most popular.
