Ray Ewry

full name: Raymond "Ray" Clarence Ewry
bio: After a childhood spent in a wheelchair partially paralysed with polio, he went on to become one of the best ever standing jump champions. In this discipline he won the standing long jump, high jump and triple jump at the Olympics in 1900, 1904, 1906, and 1908. He won a total of eight gold medals at official Olympic Games and two golds at the "Intercalated Games" (1906 in Athens).
