Central Stadium (Yekaterinburg)

Central Stadium is located in Yekaterinburg, Russia. It has a capacity of 45,000 seats. The original stadium was built in 1953, but has been rebuilt, keeping many architectural elements of the original.

Central Stadium (Yekaterinburg) is one of the stadiums for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia. To reach the required 35,000 minimum capacity for World Cup stadiums, temporary stands at each end were added - however the new mostly scaffolding stands are situated outside the stadium's oval roof! The temporary seats were removed after the tournament. During the World Cup it was called Ekaterinburg Arena.
