Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) Stadium
Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) is popularly known as the 'G', and is located in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. It has a capacity of 100, 012. It is used mainly for cricket and football (AFL). The ground is located close to the center of Melbourne city, a pleasant 15 minute walk from the main Flinders Street train station.
History
The AFL grand final is played here each year on the last weekend in September. The MCG also hosted the first ever Test Match, between England and Australia in 1877. The MCG was also the main stadium at the 1956 Olympic Games and the main stadium at the 2006 Commonwealth Games.
This stadium is on the list of the top 10 World's Largest Sporting Stadiums. It is the largest stadium in the Southern Hemisphere, Oceania, Australia.
