Hamstrings Muscles

Description

The hamstring muscle group is also call the hammys or hammies. They are located on the back side of the thigh. The hamstrings consist of three muscles:

  • Biceps femoris
  • Semitendinosis
  • Semimembranosis

Actions

The function of the hamstring muscles is to extend the hip and flex the knee.
