Chococlate

Something that tastes this good can't be all bad, can it? See chocolate myth

History

Chocolate was first made by the peoples of the ancient cultures of Mexico and Central America. These people mixed ground cacao seeds with various seasonings to make a spicy, frothy drink. Later, the Spanish brought the cacao seeds back to Spain where new recipes were created.

What is it made of?

Chocolate is composed of cocoa solids (derieved from the cacao seed), fats like cocoa butter, and sugar. Within these components are a variety of nutrients, contains anti-oxidants, with some good and some bad effects on your health.

White versus Milk versus Dark

Dark chocolate does not contain milk as an additive, and is sometimes called "plain chocolate". Milk chocolate is chocolate with milk powder or condensed milk added. White chocolate is a confection based on cocoa butter without the cocoa solids, so is not really chocolate at all.
