Zimbabwe at the Winter Olympics

Zimbabwe joined the Olympic Games for the first time under its present name in 1980, and has participated at every Summer Olympic Games from then on. The nation’s participation 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia was the nation’s first at the Winter Games.

Zimbabwe has already won many Summer Olympics medals, thanks mostly to Kirsty Coventry who churned in a 7-medal haul from 2004 to 2008. The nation is still aiming to clinch its first-ever medal at the Winter Games.

The African nation fielded Luke Steyn in two events in alpine skiing in Sochi 2014. Steyn finished 57th in the men’s giant slalom and failed to finish in the men’s slalom.
