Cayman Islands at the Winter Olympics

The Cayman Islands already appeared twice at the Winter Olympic Games, first in Vancouver, Canada in 2010 and then in Sochi, Russia in 2014.

Right after Jamaica gained its independence in 1962, the Cayman Islands became a distinct Overseas Territory of Great Britain. The Olympic Committee of Cayman Islands was established in 1973 and was acknowledged in 1976.

Alpine skier Dow Travers represented the British Overseas Territory in 2010 and 2014. Travers was entered in the men's giant slalom event in 2010 and in the men’s giant slalom and men’s slalom in 2014 but failed to finish at the medal podium.

The nation is still seeking its first medal at either the Summer or Winter Olympic Games.
