Oman at the Olympics

Oman is a relatively newcomer to the Summer Olympics. The Oman Olympic Committee was established in 1982 and was officially recognized by International Olympic Committee in the same year. In 1984, they made their Olympic debut when they sent a 17-athlete delegation to the Summer Games held in Los Angeles, California, USA.

In 1988, the delegation shrunk to 13 athletes who represented them in three sports. After that, their delegation has shrunk considerably and in 2004, they only sent two athletes.

Since their debut, they have never missed the Summer Olympics however; they are still yet to win their first-ever Olympic medal. They also have never competed in the Winter Games.
