2011 Qatar Asian Cup
The Asian Cup, run by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), is Asia’s most significant sporting event. The 2011 Asian Cup was held in Qatar between 7–29 January 2011. It was the 2nd time the event was been hosted by Qatar, the other being the 1988 AFC Asian Cup. It was the 15th time the tournament has been held.

Japan beat Australia 1–0 in the final.
