  • The 1999 World Cup was hosted by Wales.

  • Twenty teams participated in the 1999 Rugby World Cup. The teams were Namibia, South Africa, Argentina, Canada, USA, Uruguay, Australia, Fiji, New Zealand, Samoa, Tonga, Japan, England, France, Ireland, Italy, Romania, Scotland, Spain and Wales.

  • The teams were divided in five pools, each containing four teams.

  • The final was played at Millennium Stadium, Cardiff, which Australia won, beating France 35-12.

  • Total attendance at all games was 1.75 million.
