La Canne Demonstration Sport
At the 1924 Olympic Games held in Paris France, there was a demonstration of the sport of Canne de Combat (La Canne), which translates as the cane fighting. It involves a bout between two competitors with canes, similar to fencing. La Canne is a sport associated with French Kickboxing (Savate), and shared the program with that sport.
The demonstration was a bout between Professor MM . PREVOT, and the French Champion BEAUDUIN.
A similar sport Singlesticks, a type of fencing event using a wooden stick, was an official sport at the 1904 Olympic Games.
