• This is the 10th time this tournament has been held

• The 2011 World Cup will be co-hosted by India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh.

• The format of the tournament has been revised, and 14 teams will particpate instead of 16. The new format ensures that each team gets to play a minimum of six matches even if they are ruled out of the tournament due to early defeats.

• The final will be in at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, while Pakistan and Sri Lanka will host the semi-finals.
