The Kingdom of Swaziland is a small landlocked country in the east of Southern Africa, bounded to the east of Moazmbique and elsewhere by South Africia. See map of Swaziland.

It joined the Commonwealth in 1968 and made it's debut in the 1970 Commonwealth Games in Edinburgh and has attended each of the Games since.

Swaziland's first medal came at the 1974 Games in Christchurch when Richard Mabuza picked up a bronze for his time of 2hrs 12 mins 54.4 secs in the men's marathon.
