Lesotho became members of the Commonwealth in 1966 and made their debut in the 1974 Commonwealth Games which were held in Christchurch, New Zealand.

Since that debuthas taken part in every Games apart from Brisbane in 1982.

Lesotho is a mountainous landlocked Kingdom surrounded entirely by South Africa.

Lesotho won its first ever medal in Kuala Lumpur in 1998 taking the gold in the men's marathon whilst a boxing silver in Manchester was the highlight of the 2002 Games for them.
